Ok so, basically Itachi was the Uchiha's gifted child, son of the chief, becomes genin at age 6 (for comparison, Naruto was 12, Kakashi 5), and chunin at 10 (naruto never officially becomes a chunin lol, Kakashi was 6). While a chunin, his teamate Tenma dies and he unlocks his sharingan. At 11 he's part of the Anbu (Kakashi was at 13) where he works under Kakashi and then Danzo. During this time, the Uchiha clan get fed up with how the village treats them (blame them for the Nine-tail attack) and decide to plan a coup, using Itachi's position as a way to spy on the rest of the village. Itachi instead reports back to the village about the Uchiha's plans b/c if the coup worked he feared outside invasion. His friend Shisui (sharingan) gets one of his eyes stolen by Danzo during this time, and then kills himself, giving Itachi his remaining eye and unlocking his Mangekyo. Danzo instigates the council to take lethal action against the Uchiha, and tells Itachi he can either let the Uchihas go through w/ the coup and watch them all die in the conflict, or he can wipe out his clan but keep his brother. SO Itachi kills his whole family, tortures Sasuke a lil, and leaves the village known as a murdering criminal. Then he joins the Akatsuki!
the way it actually benefits him in battle bc it brigns attention for his eyes for his genjutsu is literally so fucking iconic oml weaponized lashes. @Lashes_By_Itachi who is his tech tho?? is it the same one doing all the akatski matching acrylics like???? do they paint them themselves?? i'm obsessed w kisame hunched over w the lil purple bottle painting his, or him trying to pull out his sword while tryna keep his nails from smudging LMAO okay but the matching outfits are so fucking iconic i love it sm and the custom matching rings?????
